Create a job requisition in myJobs
Create and submit a job requisition in myJobs (updated June 2026). You only need the required fields to submit — your HR Recruiter handles the rest. Here are the clicks, section by section.
- 1
Log into myHR and open the Hiring app
Sign in to myHR with your university credentials and open the Hiring app. If you don't see it, search "Create Job Requisition" — and if it's still not there, contact your HR Recruiter to get access.
myHR home → Hiring app (search: "Create Job Requisition") Drop screenshot here - 2
Go to My Team → Positions → Create Requisition
Open My Team, switch to the Positions tab, then use the 3-dots (⋮) menu on the position you want to fill and choose Create Requisition.

Enter the requisition details
These four fields sit at the top of the form:
- Use — set to Position
- Business Unit — Creighton University
- Position — pre-populated from the one you picked
- Number of Positions — how many hires you need

Set the hiring team
Set the people and structure for this requisition:
- Hiring Manager — pre-filled with who this position reports to; don't change it
- Recruiter (required) — pick who will collaborate with you
- Recruiting Type — Staff or Student Worker
- Organization — Creighton University
- Primary Location — where the position is assigned (not where the employee works from)
- Job Family — pre-filled; leave it
- Collaborators — optional, add later

Fill in the business justification
- Business Justification — most often New Position or Replacement
- Comments (required) — read as part of the approval decision, so make the case
- Not sure what to write? Check with your Recruiter or HR Generalist before submitting.

Set the job details
- Worker Type — Employee
- Regular or Temporary, and Full Time or Part Time
- Management Level — e.g. Professional
- Anticipated Salary — what you expect to offer the new hire
- Unsure which Regular/Temporary or Full/Part-Time option fits? Ask your Recruiter or HR Generalist.

Enter the funding (grant and account codes)
Enter the funding details:
- Grant Funded — Yes or No
- Percent 1 — usually 100
- Fund 1 and Org 1
- Account 1 — 6050 for Exempt/Salaried, 6110 for Non-exempt/Hourly
- Unsure of any code, or yours isn't in the list? Check with your Finance Partner first (see the warning below) — wrong codes cause delays later.

Review the posting description
Review the job description for accuracy. This is exactly what gets posted online as your job advertisement, so read it the way a candidate would.

Save and Close to submit for approval
Proofread the requisition, then click Save and Close. That sends a task to your HR Recruiter to review and submit for approval. Sections 7–11 need no entries from you — your Recruiter adds any required documents. Track progress later in myJobs under Hiring, and watch for notifications requesting more information or approval status.

- The position number for the role you’re filling (ask your HR partner if you don’t know it)
- Job location and org details
- Your assigned recruiting partner
- Your finance partner contact, for funding details
Fill out only the required fields to submit for approval — completing the rest isn’t necessary unless you’re asked. Throughout myJobs, a * marks a required field. Questions on any field? Contact your HR Recruiter.
If you’re unsure what to enter for Grant Funded, Percent 1, Fund 1, Org 1, or Account 1 — or the value you need isn’t in the list — confirm with your Finance Partner before submitting. Incorrect entries cause delays later in the recruiting process. Find your partner on the Recruiter, Generalist & Finance Partner Coverage Chart.
Track your requisition
Once it’s submitted, follow your requisition’s progress in myJobs → Hiring. Check there for notifications or messages — your Recruiter may request additional information before the requisition moves forward in the approval process.
Your HR Recruiter, HR Generalist, and Finance Partner are here to help with recruiting, hiring, grant funding, temporary hires, creating new positions, and fund/org details. When in doubt, reach out to your campus partners on the Coverage Chart.
